Efficiently Manage Your Mail
During the 2012 and 2016 presidential cycles, we ran multiple shifts during the heaviest volume timeframes, creating an efficient 24/7 operation. During 2012, a single peak day presented 80,000 contributions to be recorded by the CMDI data entry department.
During the 2020 cycle, we processed 37,160 batches that included 7.91 million gifts. This added up to $1.6 billion in donations managed by CMDI.
Processes Ensure Accuracy
Our staff uses software designed for speed, accuracy, and accountability. Keyed data is balanced on a batch-by-batch basis and matched to deposit totals to ensure accounting integrity. Special attention is paid so that each contribution is properly coded to its fundraising source code and, if applicable, fundraiser tracking number.
Security and Archiving
Credit card contributions are processed in a PCI-secure environment, ensuring that the strict standards and requirements of the credit card industry have been met. Physical documents submitted by donors are archived for three years. Data is backed up on tape on a rotating schedule and stored in vaults off site for a certain period. Data entered into Crimson is also synced to your account and saved to a secure cloud.
