GOP firm launches the Turbotax of FEC compliance
Election compliance firm CMDI announced the launch of a new product that it hopes will make filing FEC reports as easy as doing your taxes with tax software. The program, CrimsonFiler, asks compliance-related questions in plain English, allows one-click imports of receipts and expenditures, and automatically generates and files the report with the FEC. "We're firm believers that candidates are fantastic at being candidates," Erik Nilsson, vice president at the firm, told PI. "They're not so great at the back office stuff." The GOP firm aims to help Republicans focus more of their time and effort on fundraising and running for office — and less time on filling out the paperwork.
