New FEC Filing Tool for Republican Campaigns: CrimsonFiler

 Tuesday is the deadline for Congressional candidates to report their finances to the Federal Election Commission, and according to Erik Nilsson, a Vice President at Republican campaign software giant CMDI, all the compliance rules make the day a headache for congressional campaign treasurers.“They have no idea what they’re getting themselves into,” he says. “Campaigns are scared to death of the FEC.”To help Republican candidates and PACs through that process, CMDI is rolling out a new product, CrimsonFiler, which Nilsson says will be like a TurboTax for Republican campaign law compliance. The software asks the user to answer a series of questions, lets them upload all their expense reports and receipts, and generates a report, which can be submitted with a click. The software also checks reports for problems and inconsistencies.
