Austin James Joins CMDI as Digital Director
CMDI today announced that well-regarded industry professional Austin James has joined the firm as Digital Director. In this role, James will work closely with CMDI’s product development and digital communication teams to oversee the continued innovation of CMDI’s cloud-based campaign software.
“Austin is a consummate professional with a highly regarded record of innovation in the digital marketing space,” said CMDI founder John Simms. “Having spent years creatively pairing technology and digital strategy to produce results for some of the industry’s biggest clients, Austin is poised to make an immediate impact on CMDI’s ability to better support our digital partners and to consistently deliver relevant information and technology.”
“CMDI will continue to operate as a partner with digital firms in our space, not as a competitor. Our flagship product, Crimson, sits at the nexus of volumes of cross-channel marketing data, and Austin will spearhead CMDI’s effort to deliver to our digital partners the information and tools needed to glean insight and optimize their marketing strategies,” Simms added.
James is an expert in using data analysis to craft online marketing strategy and product enhancement. At CMDI, he will support the firm’s product development teams as they continue to improve the data analysis and reporting capabilities of our core products, as well as assisting the digital communications team in increasing brand awareness and visibility in additional markets. James will also be responsible for supporting the growth of CMDI’s online fundraising tools through business development.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining such a highly accomplished firm like CMDI and for the opportunity to build and grow their digital practice. To be the only Republican political software firm listed on the annual Inc. 5000 speaks to their success in the political fundraising space,” said James. “I look forward to contributing to the development of their already highly adopted product offering and helping to expand CMDI’s strong position in the politech community.”
James joins CMDI from Øptimus Consulting, a data analytics consulting firm, where he most recently served as Vice President of Digital Analysis for the firm’s Washington, DC office. Previously, James was Vice President at Gridiron Communications, a strategic data, direct mail, and digital solutions consulting firm based in Los Angeles, CA. A strategic communications specialist by trade, James earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama in strategic public affairs.
